Pauline Toombs

February 12, 1915 — July 10, 2007

Pauline Toombs died Tuesday July 10 at United Hospital in St. Paul. She was a life long resident of St. Paul. She was born February 12, 1915, the daughter of John and Pauline (Raba) Boldizar in St. Paul.

The following is written by Pauline's grandchildren:

Our Grandma was a kind and gentle woman who lived life

to the fullest. She was also very compassionate and

lived her life with integrity and humility. Trates

we all could learn and live from. Her family was the most

important part of her life. She worked very hard

raising her children and being the best grandmother

anyone could ask for. We will always remember the

time we spent with her. She was the most hospitable

person we knew. When we visited her we always had fun

and were very well fed. When you visited you knew you

were loved and you weren't leaving without handful of

kisses and hugs and You were definitely not leaving

without something to eat and bag of goodies for the

road. She was a great cook and her menu included her

famous Hungarian Goulash and pigs in the blanket. She

also was a great baker and made more cakes, cookies,

and bars than "BAKERS SQUARE." We must not forget her

very fun and famous Thanksgiving and Holiday

specialty "BROKEN GLASS JELLO", which was a mix of

different colors of thin jello mixed on top of one

another that resembled broken glass but looked good

and tasted even better.

I remember grandma was always doing something and when

we came to her door we always would say "youuuuuu

hoooooooo", and she would always say " youuuuuuu

hooooooo" back as a funny family greeting, She was

hard of hearing so when said our fun family greeting

which was high pitched, she was able to hear our greeting. She was a very hard working, dedicated and faithful

co-worker for a company named Ideal Security. She

remained great friends with the people she worked

with long after she had retired. She had an

especially good relationship with her foreman.

Her goodness and kindness drew her many life long friends.

She was the most faithful person I knew and was a

long time member of Faith Lutheran Church in Saint

Paul. As it is written in the bible we are complete

in Christ, adn she was complete in Christ and her life

was a reflection of her trust in the Lord. She was

very giving, and continually thankful for any return gesture

of kindness. As her body grew weak and having endured

the untimely death of her only son and oldest daughter

she continued to be strong in the faith. We are

thankful to our Lord Jesus Christ for the saint we

knew as Pauline. She was comforted by the promises of

Christ and the knowledge that she would spend eternity

with our Lord. We as believers look forward to

spending eternity with our Lord and our sister in

faith. We will miss our precious mother, grandmother,

great grandmother, great great grandmother and

friend.

She passed away shortly after a long visit

with her family. In the last weeks of her life she

was surrounded by the people who cared for her most.

We love you and look forward to spending eternity with

you.
