Audrey May Leonard

In the early hours of May 9, 2023, Audrey Leonard of Oakdale, passed away due to natural causes at the age of 79. 

Born in 1943 to Jack and Cleo Sweeney, she was raised in South St. Paul with her brother Bill.  After graduating from South St. Paul High School, she moved to Chicago to work for Eastern Airlines.  After she moved back to Minnesota, she was with 3M for 25 years as well as Kelly Services and US Bank.  Besides her love of travel, reading and crafts, she was an active member of the Irish Genealogy Society, serving as their librarian and President over the years.  She loved nothing more than helping others find their ancestors. 

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Cleo, as well as her brother, Bill and nieces Debbie and Julie.  

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy, and nephews, David and Dan, as well as many cousins.  

A public visitation will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm at Kessler and Maguire Funeral Home, St. Paul, MN.  

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Audrey's honor to the Alzheimer's Association or American Cancer Society.
