George J. Hosch, Sr., age 96, of Frederic, WI (formerly of North St. Paul, MN) peacefully passed away on February 12, 2024. Preceded in death by his loving wife, LaDonna, children, Michael, Linda Rader, great-grandchild, Wyatt, and brothers, Joseph, Eugene, and Robert.
Survived by his children, George, Jr. (Shirley), Evelyn (Steve) Kamrath, Patrick (Helen), Julie, and John (Karen); Fourteen grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Mary Hosch and Mary Dahl.
George grew up in St. Paul, MN in the West 7th Street neighborhood. At the age of 17, George enlisted in the Navy. He proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II, and then enlisted in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Purple Heart when he was wounded while in the Army.
After his military service, George worked for the United States Postal Service for 31 years. George was also a National Union Representative for many years.
Visitation will be held at 4:00 PM, Thursday, February 22 at Kessler and Maguire Funeral Home, 640 W. 7th St., St. Paul, MN 55102, with a Celebration of Life at 6:00 PM.
Burial service with full military honors at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Friday, February 23, 2024 at 9:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Wounded Warrior Project.
