Jennie Bonasera

March 26, 1917 — July 15, 2008

Jennie V. Conley, age 91 of Owatonna, formerly of Red Wing died Tuesday July 15 at the St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester.


Jennie was born March 26, 1917 the daughter of Grace (Frattalone) and Pasquale Bonasera in St. Paul.


Jennie owned and operated Bonasera’s Beauty Shop in St. Paul with her sister Grace. She would marry William E. Conley on August 28, 1945 in St. Paul upon his return from World War II. They would move to the Lock and Dam #3 on Prairie Island in Red Wing where they would stay for 24 years raising their family. For several years during this time Jennie was the manager of Claude’s Beauty Nook in Red Wing until opening Jennie’s Beauty Nook in her home. She would retire from the beauty shop in 1984 when she and William began to travel and spend time at their winter residence in Mesa, AZ. She would move to Owatonna in 1998.


Jennie was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Owatonna and the VFW Auxiliary in Red Wing. She loved to do crafts, crochet, dance, play cards, play bingo and spend time with her family.


She is lovingly survived by her children William T. (Carole) of Tower, MN and Green Valley, AZ, Edward W. (Jeri) of Burnsville, MN and Gayle (Donovan) Seitz of Owatonna, MN; her grandchildren William M. (Teresa) Conley, Becky Jo (Rob) Cardenas, Donovan Jr. (Amy) Seitz, Brandon (Amy) Seitz, Joshua Seitz, Michele (Capt. Bradley) Amys, Kristin Conley, Nathan Conley and Shawn Conley; great grandchildren Chase, Mikena, Madison, William, Brady and Brett. Her brother-in-laws George Huss and Red Stevens. Also by many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William E., stepson Robert; sisters Rose Bonasera, Connie Porianda, Grace Stevens, Mary Huss and a brother Joseph.


Interment in Resurrection Cemetery. Casketbearers will be William M. Conley, Donovan Seitz Jr., Brandon Sietz, Joshua Seitz, Nathan Conley, Shawn Conley, Brady Seitz and Chase Cardenas.
