With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Jennifer “Jeni” Heroff, who left us far too soon on July 30, 2025.
Jeni was more than a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend; she was the light in every room, the laughter in every gathering, and the strength behind our family. A dedicated teacher by day and a hard worker by night, she could often be found picking up shifts around local bars - not for herself, but to provide for those she loved. Whether she was calling out bingo numbers, cheering on her kids at every sport, or swapping stories at a cookout, Jeni made every moment matter. She lived fully and gave endlessly.
Jeni fought a lifelong battle with Alport syndrome, a genetic kidney disease that challenged her body but never her spirit. She endured—and survived—multiple kidney transplants with strength and grace. Through every setback, she kept showing up for her loved ones, for her students, and for life.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Bailey (Bethany), Kayanna, Aidan; grandchildren, Brooklynn, Madelynn; Mother, Debra; siblings, Tessa (Darrin), Bobby; niece, Haleea; nephew, Otto, and close friends.
She is reunited in heaven with her father, Robert; paternal grandmother, Mary; paternal grandfather, Joseph; maternal grandmother, Betty; and maternal grandfather, Ron.
A memorial service to honor Jeni’s life will be held on Saturday August 16th at Kessler and Macguire Funeral Home off West 7th in St. Paul. Viewing begins from 3-5pm with the service following from 5-7pm.
Though she left without warning, Jeni’s love endures. She continues to send us signs—whispers of her love, gentle reminders that her spirit is never truly gone.
