Joanne, aged 80, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Alex and Florentine Hauwiller in Saint Paul, MN, and lived a remarkable life with her husband Lawrence, who preceded her in death. Joanne will be dearly missed by her five sons: David (Amy), Daniel (Deb), Timothy (Christine), Steven, and Glenn (Jessica), as well as her eight grandchildren: Tyler (Amanda), Kelsey, Abigail, Blake, Kevin, Alex, Reed, and Zane, and her one great-grandchild, Elliana. She is also survived by her siblings: Monica (Glen) Mapes, Mary (Bill) Schrobilgen, Charles (Cindy) Hauwiller, and John (Sharon) Hauwiller, and was preceded in death by Kathleen (Robert) Flicek and Gerold Hauwiller.
Joanne was a woman of deep kindness and generosity who found joy in creating for others. She loved crocheting, knitting, sewing, and gardening; her hands were rarely still. Whether making gifts for family and friends or creating items for healthcare workers during her chemotherapy treatments, Joanne expressed her love through every stitch. Through her handmade gifts and blooming garden, Joanne had a special way of making the world around her more beautiful. The family appreciates all the support, prayers, and kindness shown during this difficult time.
Visitation will be held at Kessler and Maguire Funeral Home, 640 W 7th Avenue. Saint Paul, on Tuesday, June 3rd from 4 PM until 7 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Church of St. Peter, 2600 Margaret Street N. North Saint Paul, on Wednesday, June 4th at 10 AM. A luncheon will follow the service. Additionally, burial at Fort Snelling at 1:30 PM.
