John Joseph Galles

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Galles, age 85, on January 18, 2025. Born on August 12, 1939, John led a life marked by dedication, service, and leadership. A proud Master Electrician with Local Union #110, he was also a respected member of the St. Paul City Council, a nationally recognized fire inspector, and a Harvard-trained labor relations negotiator.

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra; his son, James; his parents; and three siblings. 

He is survived by his children, Greg, Robin (Dan) Trierweiler, and Daniel (Amy); many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother, Dave (Marge) Galles, and sister-in-law, Connie (Korey) Greene. 

Throughout his life, John was known for his integrity, hard work, and unwavering commitment to his family, his colleagues, and his community. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of leadership and service that will continue to inspire all who knew him. 

There will be a memorial service at Saint Francis De Sales (650 Palace Ave, St Paul, MN 55102) on January 29th at 11:30AM with a visitation 2 hours prior. The graveside service will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery following the service at 1:30PM.
