John Lepak

Formerly of St. Paul and Mendota Heights

John A. Lepak Jr.

John A. Lepak, passed away on September 21, 2023, after a long journey with Alzheimer's. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. John and Cecilia Lepak; his brother, Paul Lepak; and his beloved wife of 58 years, Colleen.

He is survived by his children, David Lepak (Justin Odegard) and Joan (Mark) Mikkelson; granddaughter, Sophie Mikkelson; and brother, Rev. Roy Lepak

John was born on February 4, 1935 to Dr. John and Cecilia Lepak in St Paul. He graduated from St Thomas Academy in 1954. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps for 3 years, then the reserves for 5 more. Back home he attended the University of Minnesota and finished his Mortuary Science degree at Worsham College in Chicago. He married Colleen Halloran in 1965. He owned Kessler and Maguire Funeral Home for 27 years. It was his passion to work with families in their greatest time of need. He was the most caring, optimistic, honest, gentleman. Instead of saying goodbye, he would always say, "keep smiling".
