Leon Edward Olson, 78

Preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Hannah, brothers, Howard and Noren and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Leon is survived by his wife, Susan, daughter Vicki (Michael), grandchildren, James, Rachel and Lucy Cirillo, his Sister-in-Law, Cleo Olson and lifelong friends, Bob Tetzloff and Mike Halligan.

Leon was originally from St. James, MN. He moved to the Twin Cities after graduating from Mankato State University. During his career, he sold real estate, but his passion was working with people who were injured on the job as their QRC.  When he was not working, his life revolved around his family and friends. Weekends at the farm, with his grandchildren was a definite highlight. Whether it was sitting around and getting to know their likes and dislikes, spending time being silly and popping his suspenders whenever possible, it was all good with grandpa. Otherwise farm time was spent planting huge gardens and planning new projects for his son-in-law to build. Time spent with friends included time at the local watering holes, puttering in the garage or all-night poker parties.

The family wishes to extend their thanks for all the care and support during the last few years. A special thank you to our neighbor Tracy, the ER and ICU staff at North Memorial Hospital and to Dr. John Gray and Isabel.

Growing up as a Polio survivor, Leon spent quite a few years at Shriners and Gillette’s Hospitals. In lieu of flowers, please donate to one of these great hospitals.
