Lorayne Locke

March 19, 1926 — February 22, 2018

Age 91. Passed away peacefully on February 22, 2018. Lorayne was a devout Catholic, who coordinated the funeral choir for many years. She was active in St. James Church Council of Catholic Women, was a deanery representative and on Parish Council. She also initiated a prayer line, lead the rosary at daily mass, cared for the altar clothes and helped at funeral luncheons. She enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, fishing and baking for her family. She worked 35 years as an election judge and head chair person. She is preceded in death by her parents, August & Matilda Schwartz; loving husband Fred; 3 brothers, Robert, Edward & George; 2 sisters, Mildred (George) Tobritzhofer & Donna (Donald) Olsen and daughter-in-law Judy Locke. Survived by her children, Thomas Locke & Nancy (Larry) Kraning; grandchildren, Byron (Amy) Kraning, Kristin (Todd) Kittleson & Malissa (Bobby) Locke; 6 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Grace, Ava, Quinn, Noah & Landry; also many nieces & nephews. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday (March 1, 2018) at ST. FRANCIS DE SALES CATHOLIC CHURCH (Palace at Osceola). The family will greet friends at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Highland Block Nurse, C/O Our Lady of Peace Home, 2076 St. Anthony Ave St. Paul, MN 55104.
