Lorraine Hamilton, age 84 of St. Paul, Minnesota passed away on November 24, 2022.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband John “Jay”; parents Thomas & Dolores Tschida; sister Carol Murphy; brother Thomas Tschida and her beloved dogs, Missy and Samantha. Survived by sisters Marilyn Gonsowski and Dorothy Doyle; sister-in-law Jeannette Miller and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Visitation 4-7 PM Tuesday at Kessler & Maguire Funeral Home, 640 W.7th St. and 10-11 AM Wednesday at church. Mass of Christian Burial 11 Am Wednesday (Dec. 7) at Church of St. Matthew, 510 Hall Ave. St Paul. Inurnment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Lorraine was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated from Monroe High School in 1956. After high school she worked in the kitchen at St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Paul until she took a position as an office clerk with Metropolitan Life Insurance. Lorraine married Jay on May 14, 1966 and they eventually settled in Cottage Grove, Minnesota, where they hosted many fun pool parties. Lorraine and Jay moved to Wilmington, NC in 1985 and loved learning the history of the area and spending time at the ocean collecting sea shells. Lorraine enjoyed early retirement and kept busy with her bowling league and Mah Jong club. She also enjoyed playing pinochle at the senior center later in life. Lorraine lived in Wilmington until 2018 when she moved back to St. Paul and lived at the Cerenity Residence until her death.
Lorraine loved her nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren deeply and was always ready to join in on a game when they visited. Lorraine will be missed for her sense of humor and her love of life.
