Opal Barbara Kuehn

Opal Barbara Kuehn (age 94) passed away peacefully on July 4, 2024. Opal was born in the Irving Park neighborhood and grew up in the West 7th area. She retired from Wells Fargo after 40 years of banking. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family over meals or celebrations. Her presence is best summed up by her favorite priest, Father Clay, ”Smile, God loves you”

Preceded in death by son Robert “Bobby”; parents Hannah and Nick Nicholson; sisters Bonnie (Pete) Vruno, Donna Brennan, and Marilyn “Bup” LaBathe. 

Survived by her husband of 67 years Robert; son David (partner Debi); granddaughter Katie Jo Birch; grandchildren Stepherd, Valor, and Haven. 

Opal’s memorial service will be held DeGido’s on August 11 from 11 AM to 4PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Our Lady of Peace Hospice Care.
