Age 84 of Mendota Heights passed away peacefully on Sunday January 15, 2023. Richard founded the state AMVETS post 1 on July 17, 1982 and was the past state commander. He is survived by his children, Connie Abrahamsen, John (Annette) & Rick; grandchildren, Jesse, Brooke, Ryan & Jack; sister, Betty; special friend, AL; and many nieces & nephews and their families. Preceded in death by wife, Dawn; parents, Mildred and Harold; sisters, Verna and Val; twin brother, Russell; brother, Bill.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour prior at the Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel, 1 Tower Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55450. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with Military Honors.
