Bob passed away on June 20th, 2021 at the age of 81. He was born June 6th, 1940 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Shirley and his parents, Anthony and Hazel. He is survived by children Antonio (Celine) J. Carpenter, Robert J. Carpenter, Martin A. Carpenter, Leslie (Nathan) Carpenter-Holt; grandchildren Jonathan (Lindsey) Carpenter, Nicholas (Stephany) Carpenter, Abby Carpenter and great-grandchildren Jack and Quinn Carpenter as well as many friends.
Bob spent most of his life in the W7th Street neighborhood of St. Paul. He attended St. Francis de Sales grade school and graduated from Monroe High School in 1958. He spent 30 years at Schmidt Brewery where he was a Brewer and a Union Steward. He was also a member of the Monroe Men’s Club which met once a month at Bennett’s Chop & Railhouse. Before Bob began working for Schmidt’s in 1971, he worked in the construction industry for 11 years. He was Union Steward for Local 132 and worked on many construction projects in and around St. Paul for construction companies such as Lovering, Kraus-Anderson, the Foley Brothers and Baumeister. He loved his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was loved by his family and friends. He will be forever missed, forever in our hearts and memories. Memorials preferred to Our Lady of Peace Hospice Residence. Memorial Service Thursday (July 1, 2021) 1 PM at KESSLER & MAGUIRE FUNERAL HOME 640 W. 7th St. 651-224-2341.
