Josh will be remembered for his generosity as well as his strength & courage, which are a true testament to his extraordinary character.

Joshua "Jawi" Gomez was an amazing man. Joshua graduated from Highland Senior High School in 2010, he was a self-taught chef. He liked to snowboard, basketball, hiking, paintball and going to the gun range; making people laugh and smile. He truly lived his life as big as he was. He was truly a gentle giant. Joshua has wisdom beyond his 28 years. When the pandemic happened Joshua decided to give to others, he never took charity from anyone. Joshua may not have a lot in monetary riches, but he was wealthy with love, kindness, humility, support, encouragement, his infectious smile, that not only lit up any room but brought sunshine to the darkness of any situation. Joshua was diagnosed with a heart condition five years ago, he was facing an uphill journey. He approached this battle with courage, strength, perseverance, positivity, hope, endurance and above all love for everyone. He always had a kind word for his friends, family and a stranger. He taught us all how to be better people, by his forgiving nature and his ability to see the goodness in everyone and everything. Despite his own personal struggles he never let that stop him from seeing the beauty of life: that time stands still for no one and to live life to the fullest.  Joshua had big plans for the future to start his food truck "Second Breath Tacos" Travel, go to the ocean to swim, to get married, have children, he knew his mother wanted grandbabies. He was creative, and could sing karaoke. He had such a bright outlook. Joshua was a hard core Eagles fan that even converted many of us to root for the Eagles.  Joshua was surrounded by his family, friends and Christina, the love of his life even as he was transitioning he found strength to give each and every person his parting words to them. He fought a great fight, giving of his self humbly in so much love to his last breath. He truly was a little messenger from the Good Lord.
